The couple bought the luxurious County Durham property five years ago, and spent 18 months transforming it. The house, on the prestigious Ash Meadows Estate in Picktree Village, is in a beautiful semi-rural location. Another major selling point is its impressive plot of land. Carol, a housewife, said: “The house is set in half an acre of land which is quite unusual for a more modern property. It was built in the 1980s and was need of updating. We spent 18 months modernising and extending, as well as planting and landscaping the gardens. “All of the houses are individually built. This property stood out as it’s at the head of the estate and built bang in the middle of the plot.” Built in a traditional style, the versatile property would suit both families or couples. “It’s a 10-roomed house, yet despite there only being two of us, we use all of the rooms.
