WHEN it comes to picking a new house, sometimes it’s just love at first sight. And for equestrian expert Tracey Harrison, 47, that was certainly the case. She fell in love with Grey Gables, a former vicarage, after hearing that it was set to go on the market.
The mother-of-two, who lives with her partner at the impressive period home, said: “We have been in the property for two-and-a-half years, moving up from Derbyshire and we’ve worked hard to renovate it. “I wanted somewhere with land for the horses and when we first saw the property we fell in love with it instantly.” But now her children Samantha, 19, and Joel, 21, have flown the nest, it’s time for another move. “It’s a very homely home even though it’s large,” she said. “All my children’s friends used to come to stay. We would often have a house full! The top floor has three bedrooms, a bathroom and a sitting area so it was ideal for them. “The kids have moved back to Derbyshire so it’s time I moved too.” The ground floor has three reception rooms off the entrance hall. There is also a cloakroom and the large living kitchen, the heart of the house. There is ample space in the kitchen to allow for entertaining and family dining and doors lead out to the yard and a patio area. Beyond the kitchen is a utility room and boot room beyond. The first floor has a family bathroom and four bedrooms off a landing with a small office area. The second floor has potential to create a self-contained flat. |
