WHEN Steve Latimer’s Northumberland home was first built in 1929, it was a two-bedroom cottage which sold for £750. It has been been extended and modernised over the years and is now an impressive five-bedroom home which the original owners would not recognise.
The detached house is set within two-thirds of an acre in Fulbeck, Morpeth. “It’s a beautiful area,” said Steve, “It’s a fabulous family house with a really nice feel to it. It’s very safe and private with tall trees and lots of wildlife such as red squirrel and deer.” Steve bought the house with his then wife Amanda but the couple have since split. They have four children Steven, 30, Ben,18, Adam, 17, and Ellie, 10, who lives with her mother. When the house first went on the market, a sale was agreed and Steve moved into rented accommodation nearby, but unfortunately the sale fell through so it’s back on the market. Now Steve has moved back in to keep an eye on his sons. As Ben and Adam play in a band, The Canvas Skies, they often use the house for rehearsals. “With three lads living there it’s in need of a little TLC,” he said. |
