A SPACIOUS home in woodland has provided the perfect environment for the Geoghegan family to grow. Kylemore house, in Tranwell Woods, near Morpeth, Northumberland, was built 30 years ago to serve as a rather extravagant bachelor pad for Tom. He then met Susie and she moved in eight years later. The house became the perfect family home when the couple had twins Alice and Oliver five years ago.
Susie said: “It’s an incredible house. We’ve adapted and extended it over the years to suit our family needs. It’s a lot bigger than it was originally. We have added a swimming pool with Jacuzzi area, and the gardens include a pond with nine Koi Carp and a tree house with zip wire for the children.” The house, set in 0.86 acres, has easy access to Morpeth and Newcastle. It includes a reception hall with cloakroom, lounge with fireplace, oak flooring and doors leading to the garden room. The dining room is perfect for formal entertaining and includes doors to the garden. The breakfasting kitchen is Susie’s favourite space in the house. Features include natural oak units, range cooker and breakfasting area. She said: “The kitchen is the hub of activity. I love cooking and being with the children there. You can spill outside into the garden, barbecue area and swimming pool which makes it a great space for entertaining. When friends come we can sit in the kitchen and watch the children play outside. The breeze house is also a great space and perfect for entertaining. It’s a circular wooden house in the garden with thatched roof that seats 16. It’s a nice place to enjoy summer dinner parties.” The property also has a games room with fitted bar. |
