BRINGING warmth and character to a new-build property can sometimes be a challenge.
But, with an eye for interiors, Mike Evans and his partner have created a clever, cosy and classy style in their spacious modern property in north Northumberland to stunning effect. The four-bedroomed detached family home is within a cul-de-sac in the coastal village of Longhoughton. Mike, 60, and his partner were initially attracted to the property due to the space it offers. It includes an entrance hall, cloakroom, study, living room, dining room, breakfasting kitchen and utility. The first floor has master bedroom with en suite, guest bedroom with en-suite shower room, two further bedrooms and a family bathroom. There is a pretty town garden to the front and a large lawned garden at the back. There is also a double garage and off-street parking. Mike, a facilities manager, said: “We bought the property new two years ago. What attracted us to this house was the size of the rooms. “We wanted four bedrooms, a decent-sized lounge and a separate dining room. The space everywhere is good and each room is a good size.” Mike and his partner opted for a range of added extras to help give their property the wow factor. He said: “We had extra wardrobes built into the fourth bedroom meaning all of the bedrooms have built in wardrobes. “We also got the bathroom and both of the en suites fully tiled and had down lighting installed in the kitchen, utility room and cloakroom. “The interior design has been a joint effort although my good lady does have an eye for these things.” |
